Under 12 and Under 14 Competitions – Singles and Doubles (Yellow Ball)
The U12-U14 singles and doubles championship events will all follow the exact same format using "FAST 4" Scoring which was used during the Belfast and District Juvenile Leagues.
The type of draw and format will be determined on the size of the entry
• Matches will be played as the "best of 2" short sets, first to 4 games with a short tie break (first to 5 points, deciding point at 4 points all) played at 3 games all. If sets are even at the conclusion of the second set then a regular tie break (first to 7 points with a 2 point advantage) will be played to determine the outcome of the match.
• A "SHORT TIE-BREAK" is the first to 5 points with sudden death at 4 points all. Players change ends every 4 points. The players whose turn it is to serve, serves the first point of the tiebreak. The following two points are served by the opponent. After this each player serves two points in rotation (continuing with rotation of service within doubles pairings).
• All singles and doubles matches will be played using NO ADVANTAGE scoring, with the receiver choosing the service side when the game reaches deuce
• Let cords will be played as normal.
U16 and U18 Yellow Ball Singles Competitions
The matches will be short sets. The best of 3 sets. If the score reaches 1 set all, a match tiebreak will be played (to 10 points, win by a margin of 2 points).
Each set is first to 4 games but you must win 2 games clear (so you cannot win a set 4-3, you must win 5-3). If the score is 4-4 in a set, a tiebreak to 7 is played.
Advantage is played in all the games (long deuce).
U18 Doubles Competitions
The U18 singles and doubles championship events will all follow the exact same format as used Junior Tour 200 Doubles Events:
Matches will be short “Fast 4” sets: best of three sets If the score reaches 1 set all, a match tie-break will be played (to 10 points, win by a margin of 2 points). First point after deuce wins the game. The receiver can choose what side the server should serve to.
