Social Club Play

Social play takes place for full playing members on:

  • Tuesday evenings: 6pm-9pm
  • Thursday evenings: 6pm-9pm
  • Saturday morning/afternoon: 11am-2pm

Social tennis is suitable for all playing standards. We provide a very welcoming environment and invite any new members to come and join in. There will always be someone to welcome you; it’s a great opportunity to make new friends and find people to play with throughout the week.

New members are welcome to try the club for two weeks, free of charge, before deciding to join.

We look to pair you with those of a similar ability while rotating who plays who regularly, and it is a very relaxed environment.

Tennis Xpress Course (Beginner Tennis Players)

Run at an additional cost these sessions are for both members and non-members.

A fun and social group coaching course which helps adult beginners to get into tennis.

Tennis Xpress teaches the foundations of the game so that by the end of the six week course you will be able to enjoy fun matches with friends, family or other people that you meet.

Under the guidance of a Professional Tennis Registered Coach, you will be taught new skills and shown how to serve, rally and score.

By using a variety of ball types (red, orange, green and yellow) and differing court sizes, the game will be made easy and fun. This will enable you to gain confidence and enjoy mastering the basics.

If you have never played tennis before or are very new to the sport, Tennis Xpress is for you.

Don’t forget that all the other players on the course will be new to the game too so it’s a great way to meet new people who are of the same level as you.

Rusty Rackets

Run at an additional cost these sessions are for both members and non-members.

This is ideal for anyone returning to the game after some time away, or who has moved through the beginner Tennis Xpress course with the squad focusing on basic techniques and tactics.

These players have already got the basic skills needed to play the game and already can serve, rally and score to an adequate level.

Players will be given easy instruction to work towards being able to rally over a net and play competitive points.

Further advancements in technique and tactics will also be given to those on the rusty racket courses who are deemed intermediate players, with more focus towards match play and an introduction to doubles.

Group Cardio Tennis

Run at an additional cost these sessions are for both members and non-members.

A series of tennis-based drills and activities played to up-tempo music on a tennis court. Cardio does not require tennis skills, but will improve your game whilst keeping your heart rate up. Whether the ball goes in or out is irrelevant as the main purpose is to improve your fitness.

  • 60 minute class
  • Burn 600 calories an hour
  • Equipment provided if needed
  • No tennis skills required, although you’ll pick some up along the way.
