The Colin Robinson Memorial Tournament
On Saturday 28th September, Ballymena LTC held their annual Colin Robinson Memorial Tournament.
This tournament was created three years ago in memory of Colin Robinson, the father of club coach Matthew.
It brings together junior members aged between 11-18, who play timed tiebreaks over an afternoon against each other.
The juniors play with people of different ages and experience, allowing them to socialise with a mixture of members, while playing against various styles.
This year the boys trophy was won by Conor McIlHatton and the runner up was his brother Ben McIlHatton.
The girls event was won by Stella Brown and the runner up was Bianca Buzea.
Archie Waide got the third overall highest score of the day, meaning he won the racket bag that was donated for the event.
An afternoon of fun filled tennis ended with refreshments provided by Matthew and his mum Helene.
Juniors enjoyed pizza, muffins, cake, sweets and drinks afterwords, which topped off another brilliant memorial tournament.
We can’t wait to host it again next year!
Well done to everyone who participated!
A massive thank you to Matthew and his family for running this event each year!
Colin would be very proud of the community ethos and inclusivity that the event embodies.
Bring on the 2025 event.
