Half Term Ulster Junior Tennis Tournament Summary

16th Feb 2025

This week we had a lot of personal milestones to celebrate for our Ballymena LTC Juniors.

The club Under 10 players were at Lisburn Racquets Club for their events.

Sam was playing in just his second ever red ball tournament and he managed to get 5 match wins on the day!

Jack and Ethan were playing in their first ever external tournament, while Leo was playing in his first green ball tournament as he transitions from orange to green.

The boys all did themselves and the club proud. They came back from the event, eager, hungry for more and looking to keep competing and improving.

Girl’s Captain, Jessica, looked to push herself this week by entering the higher level T500 event at Wallace Park.

Jessica came up against some of Ulster’s Finest U18 girls. She got several matches to help her as she adds and develops her game, these are matches which are necessary to help her see what to keep working towards.

I applaud Jessica’s professionalism, as she set out in her mind certain goals and game plans that she wished to look at implementing throughout the week.

3 of our girls played at the T100 at Cavehill.

Stella and Sarah were playing in their first ever competitive event and Bianca only in her second.

The girls really gave it their all. They achieved alot of personal triumphs by entering, and they did this together. They supported each other during each match, and helped cheer up their team mates after some tough matches.

They enjoyed the social aspect especially, meeting other players, chatting to them, while also watching and seeing how other girls compete and play on court.

The players and parents all chatted with Barry after the event, and analysed their matches, with a clear mindset now on applying what they learned, and training hard for the next event.

Well done everyone! Entering a competition is a big step, one you should all be proud of!

It was great having 8 players representing the North Eastern Regions this week from Ballymena!
