Ballymena Players Excel on TI Kids Tour

On Sunday morning, Ballymena LTC had 3 juniors competiting in the TI Kids Tour (Ulster Region).

Firstly for the Red Ball Competition, Sam McIlhatton was playing in his first ever tournament.

He played so well and did the club proud, winning 2 of his 5 matches, some against players 2 years older than him!

For the orange ball event, Leo Jacko and Emma Mezei represented Ballymena LTC.

Emma and Leo played the final after winning their first two matches. It was a 15 min match.

This was an incredible display by both. In the closing minutes, Emma led Leo, 15:13, with two minutes to spare Leo took the final 5 points.

Both players put on a stellar performance at only 8 years of age, highlighting their hard work they have put in during junior squads over the autumn!

These matches are so important, whether they win or lose. It gives them much needed practice against other clubs and players, where they get to play in a competitive environment.
