Ballymena LTC were proud to host our very first Ulster Tournament this week. The very first Ulster Tournament within Ballymena.
We welcomed 37 junior players from all across Ireland to Ballymena, where they played in U16 and U18 events.
There was terrific tennis on display over the past two days. Players, coaches, clubs and parents should be proud at what we witnessed on the courts.
BLTC were proud to have 14 of their own players competing throughout the week.
A special mention must go to Ethan and Ashton who reached the semi finals of the U18 boys championships.
Finlay and Conor won the consolation final in the U18 boys and U16 boys events.
The club would like to thank Ballymena Academy for the use of their wonderful facilities over the two days. Without this, an event of this magnitude wouldn’t be possible.
Also thank you to Henderson Group (BP Spar Ahoghill) for sponsoring food for the two days.
The club would like to thank Racket Solutions , Roger Henry for coming today and stringing players and members rackets on request. This was a wonderful service and one we are thankful for.
Thank you Galgorm Trophies for producing the wonderful trophies.
A massive thank you must go to our BLTC Parent support group for ensuring players and their families were well looked after, in regards to refreshments etc.
Finally thank you for the players who picked our tournament to play in. We hope you had a wonderful experience, and gained first hand, the community atmosphere that the club holds dear.
The biggest success of the week was seeeing so many young people getting the chance to compete, playing the sport they love.
Leaving it all out on the court, shaking hands at the end, and making new friends from all different parts of Ireland!
